Oh what a night!

The crowd noise was thunderous as the five finalists for the 2011 Ms International pageant came onto the stage. Representing the United States was one of the most accomplished models in all of SL, Ms. Nickle Sparrowtree. Decked out in a luscious, gem encrusted blue gown with star spangled headpiece she certainly appeared worthy of representing the highest profile country in the world.

Representing their neighbor to the south, Mexico, the vivacious Sunrae Suntzu sported a lovely fuchsia gown which gracefully hugged her delicate figure as she waltzed across the runway.

Not to be left out, France was represented by the angelic Sidney Abbot, who floated about the stage in a flowing white gown with a patriotic drape and millinery.

Ms Peru, Kiralyn Destiny rocked the audience with the most elaborate gown of the event, a fervid convivial ensemble that had to be seen to be believed and then there was Diana Balhaus, who looked absolutely ravishing in her red gown proudly supporting the country of Spain.

The festivities were aplenty with DJ Skeye Harbour doing an impressive job of making sure the crowd remained a lively one. The suspense continued to mount as the evening wore on and finally the time had arrived to announce the winners, or had it? It turned out Anrol Anthony, the CEO of Classic With Style, who had promoted the event had one more surprise in store for us, a special live performance by international singing sensation Essence Bilasimo!

The lovely young singer captivated the audience with her mystic vocals as she performed several of her greatest hits., keeping their attention on the stage, though she failed to keep them riveted to their seats, instead she had them dancing in the aisles!

The finalists appeared calm and congenial on the outside but one could only imagine the anxiety consuming them from within.  The suspense continued to build behind the enchanting dam of Essence's music but it would all be over soon. Concluding her set, the singer exited the stage to pomp and circumstance fit for a queen before taking her seat near the judge's chair. For a solid ten minutes, the applause and cheers reverberated throughout the dome before ebbing. Now, finally, the moment had truly arrived to announce the evening's winners. More than 200,000 $L would be given away to the five finalists of the Ms International 2011 pageant. Mrs. Anthony, our MC for the evening announced the first winner, for Ms Photogenic.., Diana Balhaus!

The dome lit up as the resplendent Ms Balhaus accepted her award with cameras flashing ravenously. The audience clapped and cheered as she took her place on stage so that our next winner could be announced, Ms Creative Talent. This year's theme was World War II so it was only fitting that the winner would be the representative of one of the wars primary players, Ms France Sidney Abbot!

As with her predecessor, Sidney gratefully accepted her award in front of the wildly cheering audience. She posed dutifully to allow perhaps thousands of pictures to be taken before finally returning to her place on stage. Now it was time to announce the place finishes. The prizes for each place finish was announced by Anrol, the fourth runner up would receive a guaranteed 5,000 $L, the third runner up would be awarded 10,000 $L, the second runner up would get 25,000 $L while the first runner up would be taking home 50,000 $L with the winner pocketing a cool 100,000 $L and a free Pageant Jewelry set proudly donated by Alyssa Bijoux, owner of Alyssa Bijoux Jewelry.

Ms Sidney Abbot was announced as the fourth runner up and receiving the 5,000 $L prize. She appeared relieved that the suspense was finally over for her as she accepted her award. The third runner up was Diana Balhaus of Spain who took home 10,000 $L and left us with three remaining finalists, Nickle Sparrowtree of the USA, Kiralyn Destiny of Peru and Sunrae Suntzu of Mexico. They were called to the front by the MC Anrol Anthony and asked to line up side by side on the stage.

The women stood by front and center, nerves racing up and down their body as goosebumps while Anrol, who seemed to delight in the suspense opened the envelope for the second runner up, Ms. Kiralyn Destiny! The ornately decorated Ms Peru accepted the hugs and congratulations of the remaining two as well as the 25,000 $L promised. It was now time to announce the second runner up and the winner of Ms International 2011 but Anrol had one last trick up her sleeve, rather than simply making the announcement she decided to 'Do it with style' by directing our attention to the fireworks now lighting up in the back of the building. With baited breath we watched with fluttering eyes as each firework exploded in the air to form a letter. One by one they fired off to spell it all out for us, Congratulations to Ms International 2011 Ms Nickle Sparrowtree!

All in all it turned out to be one hell of an evening, replete with drama, suspense, laughter and excitement. Congratulations to all of our top five finalists, tonight you proved conclusively why you are 'Simply the best'.
